Press Release - Rabid Skunk
Please be advised on March 7, 2024 Animal Control responded to a call of a dog being attacked by a skunk. The rabies lab has confirmed the skunk was POSITIVE for rabies. If you suspect an animal may be rabid, please call the animal control office at 973-838-8959 so an Animal Control Officer can assess the situation. This event serves as a reminder to keep your dog and cat up to date with their rabies vaccination. Having your pet licensed every year ensures that their rabies stays current, as it is the only requirement.
