Fire Department Siren System Testing Time Changing

The Bloomingdale Fire Department currently tests the borough's siren system every day at 6:45 p.m. Starting Monday June 16, the fire department will be changing that time to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday with no test on Sunday
The department changed to a 6:45 pm. test from a 5 p.m. test about 15 years ago when the Gamewell siren and pull box system was taken out of service. With radio-controlled sirens and timer systems, the department is able to go back to the 5 p.m. test, which was in place since the early 1960s.
