NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
ORCHARD STREET & WALLACE AVENUE
ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
On or about Monday, March 25, 2024, construction will commence on the above referenced project. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: installation of new stormwater inlets over seepage pits; removal of existing curbs and installation of new Portland cement concrete curbs; removal of existing sidewalks and driveway aprons, and installation of new Portland cement concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons; construction of ADA crossings; asphalt road resurfacing; replacement of traffic control signs; and, traffic striping. The project is estimated to take approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks, weather permitting.
This project is partially funded by a New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant awarded by the state. There will be an assessment to each property owner for sidewalks and driveway aprons.
There will be some inconvenience for access to and from residences while the work is being done. Every effort will be made to keep the closures to a minimum and work will be completed as quickly as possible. There will be times where vehicles will need to be parked on nearby side streets when the driveway curb drops, and driveway aprons are being constructed. The contractor will contact each homeowner in advance of the work to provide adequate notice to each individual property owner. Pedestrian access to each home will be provided at all times.
If any property owners have irrigation systems for their landscaping within the front yard, please place a flag so that the contractor can avoid damage to your systems.
